sometimes....something happens to u and u think the world should come to a screeching halt...if only for a moment...just to acknowledge YOU...YOUR triumphs...YOUR victories...and maybe even YOUR loss...YOUR devastation....but...there are too many things going on in this universe that r not about YOU (this line borrowed from PDL or so i'm told)...
but every now and then...don't u want it to be just about YOU?...don't u want to have selfish moments and not be able to feel any guilt about it?...sometimes...being thoughtful and considerate and caring and gracious and kind can be tiring...most of the time...it's easy...but SOMETIMES...
i want to just do what i want to do....when i want to do it...how i want to do it...why it want to do it...with no thought for how it affects anyone but me...
and sometimes...i am looking into the eyes of the world...facing my fears...hand on my hip....smile on my brave face...all the while.... i'm screaming on the inside....

okay...y'all are taking this topic in a totally different direction than what i had in mind...
for me...this topic is about the very shallow topic of selfishness...wanting to be the center of attention...wanting to have ALL EYES ON ME...living life with no thought of the consequences of your actions...being the headliner...getting your 15 minutes of fame and then some...

yeah, i was getting confused about some tangents, to me
at least, but it took me abit at least to conclude in my life that EVERYONE REALLY should be the center of their universe, not have someone else as the center.

cey - yeah, i also have been self-sufficient since age 17.(h.s. dropout with two college degrees). I mentioned way back on ajc my dad a very negative person. I feel that limiting contact with him, for many years, allowed me to NOT have the negativity I still see in a younger sibling. If you surround yourself with negative people, you become negative. Only allow postitive people, you maintain positive.
negative person - always seeing how you can NOT do something.
positive person - always seeing that ANYTHING is possible.

i just found out that my girlfriend's parents have come to atlanta with a uhaul truck and taken half the damn furniture out of the house that she shared with her husband...all of her clothes to the point of asking about certain items like leather jackets and shit and personal property to the point of saying, "I know she had more cd's than this."
AND because the nameplate in her casket did not have her full name (meaning maiden name, because she was hyphenated), they had the masoleum vault opened and the name plate changed to include their last name...
i'm sure there's more...i just haven't heard it all...

just got off the phone with my girlfriend's husband...he said that they told him he wasn't their son-in-law anymore...

he says that they had an amicable relationship...he did not have any indication prior to this that they would behave in this fashion...
they were trying to take the man's WEDDING PICTURES!!!
he is FLOORED!!!
they told him that most of the people in the pictures were their family and he didn't know them anyway...
he realizes that they had no legal rights to ANY of her belongings...however...he has been trying to be the better person in all of this and to honor charlotte's memory...
they are acting like complete asses...they took her car, all the furniture with the exception of the master bedroom...the man even had to go out and buy a television when they left his house on sunday...
they wiped him out...and called him back last night to ask him about more bullshit...
it was at this point that he put his foot down...he's cutting off all contact with them...not taking anymore of their abuse...and not allowing them to take any more of HIS property from HIS house...
